As an employer in Singapore, it’s important to keep your helper’s work permit active.
To help you stay on track, MOM will send a Renewal Letter about 8 weeks before the work permit expires. Once you receive it, you can start the renewal process.
Remember: Renew on time to avoid continued levy charges, penalties, or overstaying fines.
Your Renewal Checklist:
- Helper Recent Passport Copy
- Medical Examination Form (Refer to Renewal Letter page 2 to confirm if required)
- New Medical Insurance
- New Security Bond
-
New Requirement (From 1 September 2025):
If you have children under 7 years old in your household who are not fully vaccinated against measles, you must ensure that your helper is immune to measles.
Submit the online renewal form:
- Log in to the FDW eService with your SingPass, submit the application and upload the required documents. (Refer to your renewal letter for specific instructions.)
- Pay $35 to renew, and get the outcome immediately.
After Renewal:
- Print and check the instruction on the Temporary Work Permit:
- If it stated "Continue to use your existing work pass card", then you may keep the current card.
- If it stated "Get your new permit", book an appointment with MOM for the new card registration. Once your helper receives the new card, safely cut and discard the old card.
